With a vision to become one of the world’s best airports, MIAL has been continuously and consistently upgrading CSIA to an airport that delights its guests by offering best in-class comfort and convenience.

Challenges Faced

Considering the nature of the establishment and the need to handle a very large number of visitors, a special requirement from Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for Mumbai International airport was to install the High Security CCTV System at the periphery of the premises with intimation of intrusion by visual indication and voice alert at the Airport control centre.
The task was difficult due to :
• Thick plantation adjoining the entire periphery generated false alarms.
• Low Night light conditions .
• Perception of too many cameras to cover the complete periphery.

Solution
Interface Digital Solutions Pvt Ltd. studied the idiosyncrasies of the requirements. The identification of the appropriate cameras and their locations to cover the topology was taken into consideration in designing an integrated solution that met the approval of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security & CISF teams.

Intrusion accuracy was improved by the use of certain features of the identified cameras.

Low light conditions were addressed using moonlight technology that was a technological innovation by the vendor of the selected brand of cameras.

The overall numbers of cameras was optimized by the use of dual lens camera’s, that covered the adjacent camera.

Outcome

Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and CISF have made the monitoring features of the installation as a part of their standard operating procedure at the airport and have plans for replicating the same at other Airports in India.
